Common Ground 2015: Reinvigorating the Conversation on Arts Education for New York State and Beyond

The New York State Alliance for Arts Education presents a convening of educators, teachers and artists statewide in an investigation of the future of arts education in New York State.

By attending Common Ground 2015 you will:
- Learn more about the National Core Arts Standards and the SED Review
process;
- Create community and reinvigorate arts education support at state level through
panel discussions, facilitated workshops and networking opportunities;
- Take home teaching tools for developing curriculum and integrating the arts into
classroom teaching via presentations by nationally recognized arts teachers
and arts integration experts;
- Reach all students through our extensive strand on VSA Arts and Universal
Design for Learning.

About Common Ground:
Common Ground 2015 is a professional development conference for teachers, school administrators, educators, teaching artists and others interested in the field of arts education. The conference strives to demonstrate effective teaching and learning strategies for practitioners in the field of arts education, as well as to provide forums for discussion of other critical issues such as policy and advocacy, assessment, fundraising, and organizational management. Focusing on four key areas, - the National Core Arts Standards, VSA and teaching arts for students with special needs; arts integration; and arts education advocacy and policy - the conference aims to find common ground amongst all administrators and practitioners in the field of arts education and to launch a statewide conversation on the aims and needs of providing all arts for all students within New York State and beyond.
